The Adaptable Lightweight Plate Carrier (ALPC) is a minimalist, modular plate carrier constructed from the highest quality 1000 denier Cordura. Many carriers are made with 500 denier (lighter) Cordura, which in our opinion does not provide sufficient durability for long lasting use. Both front and rear plate bags split in half and secure around your plate, allowing the front base to be swapped out for any of our front base layouts.
We offer the ALPC to fit the following size plates in SAPI and SHOOTER style cuts (the ALPC will not properly fit Swimmer style plates):
- 9.5" x 12.5" x 1.25"
- 10" x 12" x 1" (for 10x12 plates, thickness is very important, any plate thicker than 1" will not fit)
- 10.25" x 13.25" x 1"
Weight: We do not recommend having more than 12lbs in or on each plate bag (front / rear)
Note: The ALPC is designed to fit plates following the SAPI sizing convention. Plates that do not follow this convention may not fit properly. Please consult the above dimensions carefully before ordering to ensure your plates will fit our carrier.
The bases of the ALPC are universally sized, so whether you purchased a medium or large, the bases will be the same. The tops are what determine sizing.
The standard front top has a 4"x6" loop velcro panel with vertical PALS webbing on either side which fit QASM buckles (included) for attaching swift clip compatible chest rigs. The enhanced version has 4 columns and 4 rows of loop velcro PALS webbing instead of the 4"x6" loop panel.
We offer three front base options. You can purchase additional front bases HERE:
- Loop base: 4"x10" loop fastener panel
- PALS Loop base: 6 columns, 5 rows of PALS webbing (MOLLE)
- 3556 base: 3x 5.56x45mm rifle mags
- 3R3P base: 3x 5.56x45mm riflem mags and 3x pistol mags
The standard rear bag is a minimalist bag while the enhanced version has loop PALS on the top and standard PALS webbing on the base. The enhanced rear bag can be used to attach a hydration pack, assault pack, or any other MOLLE compatible items.
The Mag Pockets cummerbund is constructed from 4" elastic and has integrated mag pouch cells (Short size fits 3 per side, Long size fits 5 per side) that fit 5.56x45mm rifle mags and many other items. The cummerbund can be adjusted through the rear bag cummerbund pocket and attaches to the front base using 4" First Spear tubes.
The MOLLE cummerbund has laser cut MOLLE loop panels for attaching radio pouches, side plate bags or other accessories. It is the preferred cummerbund for use with our side plate bags if you wish to run side plates.
The best way to measure for the cummerbund is just under the pectoral muscles.
- Short: 32" - 38"
- Long: 40" - 46"
The ALPC comes with shoulder pads that provide extra comfort.

I have ALPC Lightweight carrier in MCB and it is awesome. Everything in the carrier is very well made and it is really comfortable all around. I am very pleased with my purchase.
After looking for a plate carrier I stumbled upon the ALPC. It mirrored many other brands but it was in stock and made here in the USA. I was a little hesitant to order due tot he way the plates insert in the center versus the top or bottom like traditional carriers. However I pulled the trigger and I’m pleased I did! The carrier came prompt thanks to the new shipping plan. The carrier itself is made very well. The cumber band with the slide quick release is nice. The ability to run gear in the cumber-band loops is a plus. The included shoulder pads are comfortable. My carrier has the hesco 210s and it fits the ALPC perfectly, I added my placard and after getting a workout out and a range session (total time in carrier 2.5hrs) in I’m thrilled I purchased it. Nothing moved, lightweight and forgot I had it. Very versatile and best of all in stock while supporting a small business. If your on the fence pull the trigger and don’t look back!
This is exactly what I wanted in a low-vis carrier. Fit and finish is excellent and the plates fit perfectly.
First Gadsen Dynamics product I’ve bought and not disappointed. Best plate carrier I’ve owned! Low profile, lightweight, and well constructed. Relatively low lead time and great customer service. If you’re looking for something low profile this is it. Just note there is no drag handle which is fine with me as it’s one less thing to get caught up on things. Depending on your overall build you may be able to conceal with a jacket.
'-No un-needed bulk. -conceals under jacket - Slick as any other slick carrier, if not slicker - I do not recommend 8 lb plates for this carrier (weight distribution of the shoulder straps for super heavy lvl IVs isn't comfortable for long hours at a time) -Amazingly comfortable to the point where I forget I'm wearing it. - Andy the owner is very responsive with any questions Many people seem to wonder if the Velcro in half design is going to be a hindrance... The answer is No. It holds the f*** out of the plates. Very strong design. As soon as you need to scale up or down you can puchare a new lower front base and do so. The ability to run the 3 556 base so slick and minimalist is very effective when trying to stay concealed. If your thinking about getting this carrier. Do it. Well worth it.
This is a significant step up from my time in the military running an IOTV or issued plate carrier. Comfortable, easy to don and doff. Nothing bad to say about it, personally!
If you are eyeballing this PC, buy it. I am very pleased with all of my purchases from Gadsden Dynamics. Turnaround time was exactly as described.
First off, I would like to say, fantastic customer service. I originally order the standard version but decided to upgrade to the enhanced version. I simply reach out to them and they hook me up. For the longest time I been waiting for the MCB Slickster to be available and when the time came I lost my opportunity in a second. So I came across the ALPC and hands down this is the best purchase I have made. First off the plate carrier and the pattern I was looking for was available. Every features is high quality like the cummerbunds, shoulder pads, and the materials. My favorite features is the modular front panel, currently rocking my spiritus system chest rig.
I’m glad I found GD! The product is GREAT and Andy is an amazing. I’d be willing to give repeat business any day. Customer service is GREAT. I bought the Medium ALPC Lightweight carrier, Enhanced with the short cummerbund. I’m using 10 x12 curved ceramic SAPI plates that are about an inch thick and 6 pounds each. It fits my plates and my body comfortably. (I’m 5’10” when I stand up straight and 165 without the boots.) I did a TON of research on carriers and plates and chose this. It checked pretty much all the boxes I wanted. And I looked EVERYWHERE. I’m EXTREMELY pleased. PROS: ~ Lightweight and Modular ~ Comfortable ~ Slick style cummerbund with first spear tubes ~ Great company, great product ~ Available during Covid ~ Awesome color (MCB) ~ does what I need CONS (not many!) ~ The cummerbund options. ~ A little costly—but good stuff isn’t cheap ~ Not a lot of reviews on this company or carrier. But don’t let that deter you. This is a good carrier from a great company. ~The way the carrier is designed in half pieces looks a little odd. But I don’t really think about it. Plus, the MCB color makes up for the cool factor. WISHLIST: ~ I’d like the rear plate to ride just a little higher. ~ Maybe a drag handle ~ More velcro on the shoulder straps. Mine are down all the way and I’m out. ~ More cummerbund options to add sizes and versatility. Thanks for letting me share my honest opinion! Hope it helps you make an informed purchase!
